Take your diving to the next level by taking one or more specialty courses. These courses teach you new techniques to deal with specific environments and give you the tools to enhance your underwater exploration. At Dive Cabarete we offer a wide range of specialties, message us to inquire about the one that interests you the most!
Nitrox Course
$170 per person
Longer bottom times, shorter surface intervals, less fatigue (anecdotally reported) are a few reasons why the Nitrox course is beneficial. It is a fast and easy course that requires no diving to get certified. You will learn how to safetly dive with enriched air, how to analyze gas mixtures and more. This course does not require diving to get certified. If you would like to dive 2 times with Nitrox and get certified, it costs $280 per person.
Night Diver Course
$450 per person
At night, the reef comes alive in ways you’ve never seen. Nocturnal creatures like octopus, king crabs, lobsters, and hunting moray eels emerge. Bioluminescence glows with every kick you make— it is like diving through stars. The same site you dove in the day feels mysterious and magical. With this course, you won't get to just experience 1 night dive, you will get to night dive 3 times.
Wreck Course
$390 per person
​Wrecks are time capsules, each with a unique story — from sunken warships and cargo vessels to intentionally scuttled reefs. The course comes with 4 dives and teaches you how to safely explore wrecks, giving you access to a whole new world of diving.
Deep Diver Course
$390 per person
Many of the more exciting and intriguing dive sites are located in deeper water. Without proper training, this kind of diving can put you at risk. The Deep Diving program will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experience required to make these types of dives safely and comfortably. This course includes 4 dives.
Peak Performance Buoyancy
$300 per person
Proper buoyancy control can only be mastered with proper training. This buoyancy program will improve your swimming position and reduce your effort which will lead to less air consumption. In addition, proper buoyancy control is the best skill for environmental protection.
Project AWARE
$150 per person
Project AWARE’s philosophy is to mobilize a global force of scuba divers and water enthusiasts who care about protecting the world’s water resources and choose to make a difference – one dive at a time. By earning the Project AWARE Specialist certification, you’ll be aware of the most pressing problems facing vulnerable aquatic environments and know what everyday actions you can take to help protect them. Anyone who has an interest in the aquatic world should take this course. There are no prerequisites, age restrictions or water sessions required for this non-diving specialty.
Divers Against Debris
$150 per person
Marine debris is one of the most widespread pollution problems. This course empowers you to actively remove debris from the ocean and record your findings, contributing to a global database that supports policy change and better waste management. Protect what you love and make a real-world impact by taking this course.
