About Us
Dive Cabarete has been providing quality scuba diving and snorkeling experiences on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic since 1998. At Dive Cabarete, we are a small but mighty team. We are delighted to invite you to come and experience the enjoyable and unforgettable scuba diving in the clear, warm and tranquil waters of Sosúa Bay. 
We believe the ocean experiences that we provide are unique on the Northern coast of the Dominican Republic. Our first focus is safety, followed closely by hands-on, personal customer service: quality instead of quantity. We always dive in small groups, with highly trained, experienced instructors ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all customers equally.
Miguel Santana - Snorkel/Free Dive Guide
Miguel has been a guide for watersport activities for over 35 years. He is also known as "La Roca" or "The Dominican Rock." If you get to go snorkeling with him, he will be your paparazzi for the day and take complimentary videos and pictures. He will proudly tell you he is "the best guide in the Caribbean" and we have to agree with him! He takes people snorkeling of all ages and varying abilities and loves what he does. With all of his years of experience, Miguel speaks Spanish, English, and some French and German as well. He always has a huge smile on his face and loves to make people laugh. One of his mottos is: "Don't worry. Be happy."
Ángel Leonardo Garcia - Dive Instructor
Ángel has been diving most of his life as his father is a divemaster. Whether you have never gone diving before, or are an experienced diver Ángel will tailor the day to your wants and needs. Ángel is a dedicated and highly skilled PADI Instructor with over 6 years of experience as an instructor. He has an expertise in conducting underwater training sessions, demonstrating proper dive techniques, and ensuring safety regulations are adhered to. He has successfully certified over 250 individuals. Ángel has a strong commitment to fostering a safe, educational, and enjoyable diving experience. He is also very passionate about promoting environmental sustainability and ocean conservation.
Savannah - Divemaster
Savannah originally came to Sosúa to volunteer at Dive Cabarete in March 2024 for a couple of weeks but ended up moving here. She is originally from Iowa- very far from the ocean. She is the happiest when she is close to the beach or underwater.
Domingo Castillo - Boat Captain
Captain Domingo was with Dive Cabarete from the very beginning and was one of the most highly respected captains in Sosúa bay. He would usually be found taking loving care of Elena, his 22ft boat. He worked tirelessly every single day to ensure the operation runs smoothly, and our divers and snorkelers have a safe and fun experience. Although Domingo passed away in 2025, he will always be part of our crew.
