A little bit about our crew!
Dive Cabarete has been providing quality scuba diving and snorkeling experiences on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, primarily in Cabarete and Sosúa areas, since 1998. We are delighted to invite you to come and experience the enjoyable and unforgettable scuba diving in the clear, warm and tranquil waters of Sosúa Bay. 
We believe the ocean experiences that we provide are unique on the Northern coast of the Dominican Republic. Our first focus is safety, followed closely by hands-on, personal customer service: quality instead of quantity. We always dive in small groups, with highly trained, experienced instructors ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all customers equally.
James Bergeron, Tim Teunis, and Angel Garcia - Owners
James got the bug to own a dive shop when he first visited Sosua in mid-2023. After being out of the water for several years since his certification, he was hit with a wave of panic and swam for the boat. Angel was great; he calmed him and held his hand for the entire first dive. James knew he met a friend for life. When the opportunity to own Dive Cabarete came up, he teamed up with his lifelong friend Tim and quickly brought Angel on board. Together, they aim to serve their many returning customers with the exemplary service they have come to expect and WOW the new customers with a truly superb experience.
Domingo Castillo - Boat Captain
Captain Domingo has been with Dive Cabarete from the very beginning and is one of the most highly respected Captains in Sosúa bay. He can usually be found taking loving care of Elena, our 22ft boat, which has been modified to carry up to 10 divers in comfort. He works tirelessly every single day to ensure the operation runs smoothly, and our divers and snorkelers have a safe and fun experience. Domingo holds a Captain's license and is trained in rescue procedures and CPR. He always has a huge smile for everyone, his motto is: No problems, only solutions!
Angelleonardo Garcia - Dive Instructor
Angel literally grew up on Playa Sosua. The descendant of his dive instructor father, Angel has been diving most of his life. As a top-tier instructor, he has over 3500 dives to his credit. His kind, patient demeanor makes him a great teacher for first-time divers. His extensive knowledge of the ocean makes him the perfect guide for certified divers looking to see the best spots to submerge, including 3 Rocks and the ship wreck.
Miguel Santana - Snorkel Instructor/Dive Master
Miguel is another veteran on Playa Sosua. A certified Dive Master, he often assists with large group dives and leads the snorkeling tours.
